Step 1: Download the PDF from CaixaBank
Log in to CaixaBankNow online banking at caixabanknow.es or open the CaixaBank mobile app (formerly known as "la Caixa" app). Navigate to Mis cuentas (My accounts), select the account, go to Extractos (Statements), pick the month, and click Descargar PDF (Download PDF). Alternatively, in the CaixaBank app, go to Cuentas → Extractos and download from there.
For CaixaBank Empresa (business) accounts, log in at empresas.caixabank.es (CaixaBankNow Empresas), navigate to Cuentas, then Extractos, select the period, and download the PDF. Business statements may include multiple accounts if you manage several CIFs under one login.
Note: CaixaBank uses the CaixaBank Sign app for two-factor authentication. You may need to approve the login or download via CaixaBank Sign before the PDF becomes available. Authenticate first, then download.
Make sure to download the official statement PDF — not a transaction list screenshot. The full statement (with header, saldo anterior, and saldo final) produces the best conversion results. CaixaBank supports the following account types: Cuenta corriente, Cuenta Nómina, Cuenta Online, Cuenta Día a Día, Cuenta Negocios, Cuenta Empresa, tarjeta de crédito, and tarjeta de débito.
The IBAN format for CaixaBank accounts is ES + 22 digits (CaixaBank entity code: 2100; ex-Bankia entity code: 2038). All amounts are in EUR. Date format in statements is DD/MM/YYYY.
Step 2: Upload the PDF to pdftoxlsx
Go to pdftoxlsx.com and drag the PDF into the upload area. No account is required for a first conversion. For password-protected PDFs (some CaixaBank Empresa statements may be password-protected), enter the password when prompted.
pdftoxlsx processes the file in 15–20 seconds. Your data is encrypted in transit and deleted within 24 hours.
Step 3: Review the auto-detected layout
pdftoxlsx auto-detects the CaixaBank statement template — Cuenta corriente, Cuenta Nómina, Cuenta Online, Cuenta Día a Día, Cuenta Negocios, Cuenta Empresa, tarjeta de crédito, or tarjeta de débito. A preview shows the extracted columns: Fecha (Date, in DD/MM/YYYY format), Concepto (Description), Importe (Amount), and Saldo (Balance). All amounts are in EUR.
Verify that the preview matches the Saldo Final on the last page of the PDF. If it does, extraction is clean. For CaixaBank Empresa multi-account statements, each account appears on its own sheet. Legacy Bankia statements (pre-2021 merger) are also auto-detected with their own template.
Step 4: Download the Excel file
Click Download .xlsx (or .csv for import tools that don't read Excel natively). The output is ready for Excel, Google Sheets, Contasol, Sage Despachos, A3, or any accounting software that accepts .xlsx or .csv.
For year-long conversions, drag up to 12 CaixaBank PDFs at once — pdftoxlsx consolidates them into one .xlsx with a Month column.
What the output looks like
Your Excel file includes standardized columns that work with any accounting software:
- Fecha — formatted as Excel dates in DD/MM/YYYY (sortable, filterable)
- Concepto — full transaction description (domiciliaciones, transferencias, Bizum, recibos)
- Importe — negative for debits, positive for credits, in EUR
- Saldo — running balance after each transaction

Common edge cases for CaixaBank statements
CaixaBank vs ex-Bankia statements (different templates pre-merger): CaixaBank absorbed Bankia in 2021. If you have older Bankia statements (entity code 2038), they use a different PDF layout than current CaixaBank statements (entity code 2100). pdftoxlsx auto-detects both templates and extracts transactions identically. No manual configuration needed — just upload and the converter handles it.
CaixaBankNow vs legacy "la Caixa" PDF formats: Over the years, CaixaBank has updated its statement format — from the old "la Caixa" branding to the current CaixaBankNow layout. pdftoxlsx recognizes all format generations and extracts Fecha, Concepto, Importe, and Saldo consistently regardless of when the statement was generated.
Bizum transactions (BIZUM + phone/name): Bizum payments and receipts in CaixaBank statements appear with a "BIZUM" prefix followed by the recipient or sender phone number and name. pdftoxlsx preserves the full Bizum identifier, phone number, and name in the Concepto column so you can reconcile peer-to-peer payments easily.
Domiciliaciones SEPA (direct debits): SEPA direct debits in CaixaBank statements include long mandate references, creditor IDs, and IBAN details that may wrap across multiple lines. pdftoxlsx merges these wrapped lines into a single Concepto cell without losing any reference data, making them searchable and filterable in Excel.
Tarjeta de crédito statements (separate monthly statements): CaixaBank credit card PDFs are separate from current account statements and include Compras (purchases), Pagos (payments), and finance charge details. pdftoxlsx consolidates these into a single Importe column so the ledger matches the card balance exactly.
Cuenta Negocios/Empresa (empresas.caixabank.es portal): Business account statements from CaixaBankNow Empresas may include multiple accounts and CIFs in a single PDF. pdftoxlsx splits these into separate sheets (one per account/CIF) so you can import each to the correct ledger in your accounting software.
TPV/POS transactions for business accounts (merchant payments): CaixaBank Empresa statements with TPV (Terminal Punto de Venta) activity show merchant payment aggregations and individual card transaction breakdowns. pdftoxlsx extracts both the summary and detail lines, placing them on appropriately labeled sheets.
Seguros y fondos (insurance/investment linked transactions): CaixaBank statements may include lines related to VidaCaixa insurance premiums or investment fund movements. These appear as separate transaction types. pdftoxlsx preserves the full description including policy or fund reference numbers in the Concepto column.
CaixaBank Sign authentication (2FA may affect download flow): CaixaBank requires CaixaBank Sign (a separate app) for two-factor authentication when downloading statements. This does not affect the PDF content — once you have authenticated and downloaded the PDF, simply upload it to pdftoxlsx as normal. The 2FA step is only relevant for the download process from the bank.
Extracto consolidado multi-cuenta: CaixaBank can generate consolidated statements covering multiple accounts in a single PDF. pdftoxlsx detects each account section and splits them into separate sheets, preserving the IBAN and account alias for each. This is particularly useful for families or businesses managing several CaixaBank accounts under one profile.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I download CaixaBank statements?
You can download CaixaBank PDF statements from CaixaBankNow online banking at caixabanknow.es (Mis cuentas → select account → Extractos → Descargar PDF) or from the CaixaBank mobile app (Cuentas → Extractos). For business accounts, use empresas.caixabank.es (CaixaBankNow Empresas). You may need to authenticate via CaixaBank Sign before the download is available.
I have old Bankia statements — does pdftoxlsx work?
Yes. pdftoxlsx fully supports both current CaixaBank statements and legacy Bankia statements from before the 2021 merger. Bankia PDFs (entity code 2038) use a different template than CaixaBank (entity code 2100), but pdftoxlsx auto-detects both and extracts Fecha, Concepto, Importe, and Saldo identically. Just upload the Bankia PDF as you would any other statement.
Can I convert CaixaBank credit card statements?
Yes. CaixaBank credit card statements — which are separate monthly PDFs from current account statements — are fully supported. pdftoxlsx extracts Compras (purchases), Pagos (payments), and finance charges, consolidating them into a clean Importe column. Both Visa and Mastercard CaixaBank card statements work.
What about CaixaBank Empresa accounts?
Yes. CaixaBank Empresa (business) statements from the CaixaBankNow Empresas portal at empresas.caixabank.es are fully supported. This includes Cuenta Negocios and Cuenta Empresa formats, multi-account PDFs with several CIFs, and TPV/POS merchant transaction summaries. pdftoxlsx splits each account/CIF into its own sheet in the output .xlsx.
Are Bizum transactions included in the conversion?
Yes. Bizum payments and receipts in CaixaBank statements appear with a BIZUM prefix, phone number, and sender/recipient name. pdftoxlsx preserves all of this information in the Concepto column, making it easy to filter and reconcile Bizum transactions in Excel or your accounting software.
My CaixaBank PDF needs CaixaBank Sign — how do I proceed?
CaixaBank Sign is a separate authentication app required for 2FA when accessing CaixaBankNow. First, approve the login or action in CaixaBank Sign, then download the PDF statement from CaixaBankNow or the CaixaBank app. Once you have the PDF file on your device, simply upload it to pdftoxlsx.com — the 2FA step only applies to the bank's download process, not to the conversion.
