Step 1: Download the PDF from Bankinter
Log in to Bankinter Online at bankinter.com or open the Bankinter mobile app. Navigate to Cuentas (Accounts), select the account, go to Movimientos (Transactions), and tap Descargar extracto (Download statement) or Extracto PDF. You can select a custom date range or choose the monthly statement. The file is typically named like Extracto_Bankinter_2026-03.pdf.
For Cuenta Empresa or Cuenta Profesional accounts, log in to the Bankinter business portal (empresas.bankinter.com), navigate to Cuentas, then Extractos, select the period, and download the PDF. Business statements may include multiple accounts under the same login.
Make sure to download the official statement PDF — not a transaction list screenshot or an export from the search results. The full statement (with header, saldo anterior, and saldo final) produces the best conversion results. Bankinter supports the following account types: Cuenta Nomina Bankinter (the flagship payroll account), Cuenta Profesional (for freelancers and self-employed), Cuenta No-Nomina (without payroll domiciliation), Cuenta Joven (for younger customers), Cuenta Empresa, and Bankinter Consumer Finance (formerly Bankinter Card Services).
The IBAN format for Bankinter accounts is ES + 22 digits, with entity code 0128 (e.g., ES91 0128 1234 56 1234567890). All amounts are in EUR. Dates in Bankinter statements follow the DD/MM/YYYY format.
Step 2: Upload the PDF to pdftoxlsx
Go to pdftoxlsx.com and drag the PDF into the upload area. No account is required for a first conversion. For password-protected PDFs (some Bankinter Empresa statements are password-protected), enter the password when prompted.
pdftoxlsx processes the file in 15-20 seconds. Your data is encrypted in transit and deleted within 24 hours.
Step 3: Review the auto-detected layout
pdftoxlsx auto-detects the Bankinter statement template — Cuenta Nomina, Cuenta Profesional, Cuenta No-Nomina, Cuenta Joven, Cuenta Empresa, or Bankinter Consumer Finance. A preview shows the extracted columns: Fecha operacion (Transaction date, DD/MM/YYYY), Fecha valor (Value date), Concepto (Description), Importe (Amount), and Saldo (Balance). All amounts are in EUR.
Verify that the preview matches the Saldo Final on the last page of the PDF. If it does, extraction is clean. For Cuenta Empresa or Cuenta Profesional multi-account statements, each account appears on its own sheet.
Step 4: Download the Excel file
Click Download .xlsx (or .csv for import tools that don't read Excel natively). The output is ready for Excel, Google Sheets, Contasol, Sage Despachos, A3, or any accounting software that accepts .xlsx or .csv.
For year-long conversions, drag up to 12 Bankinter PDFs at once — pdftoxlsx consolidates them into one .xlsx with a Month column.
What the output looks like
Your Excel file includes standardized columns that work with any accounting software:
- Fecha operacion — transaction date formatted as DD/MM/YYYY (sortable, filterable)
- Fecha valor — value date (when the transaction is effective for interest calculation)
- Concepto — full transaction description (domiciliaciones, transferencias, Bizum, recibos)
- Importe — negative for debits, positive for credits, in EUR
- Saldo — running balance after each transaction
Example rows: 02/03/2026 RECIBO NATURGY -87.45 | 03/03/2026 TRANSFERENCIA DE MARTINEZ LOPEZ +750.00 | 05/03/2026 PAGO TARJETA -423.18 | 08/03/2026 NOMINA CONSULTORIA SL +3,450.00 | 10/03/2026 BIZUM DE 634567890 +30.00 | 15/03/2026 ALQUILER OFICINA -1,200.00
Common edge cases for Bankinter statements
Cuenta Nomina vs Cuenta No-Nomina layout differences: Cuenta Nomina Bankinter and Cuenta No-Nomina use slightly different statement layouts. Cuenta Nomina statements include additional payroll-related details and may show bonus interest rates or cashback information. pdftoxlsx detects both templates automatically and extracts transactions identically — the layout differences do not affect data extraction.
Fecha valor vs Fecha operacion (two date columns): Bankinter statements include both Fecha operacion (the date the transaction was initiated) and Fecha valor (the date it becomes effective for interest calculations). These can differ by several days, especially for card payments and SEPA transfers. pdftoxlsx preserves both columns separately so your accounting software can use either date for reconciliation or interest calculations.
Bizum transactions: Bizum payments and receipts appear in Bankinter statements with a distinct "BIZUM" label followed by the recipient's or sender's phone number or name. pdftoxlsx preserves the full Bizum identifier in the Concepto column so you can reconcile peer-to-peer payments easily.
Domiciliaciones SEPA with mandate references: SEPA direct debits (domiciliaciones) in Bankinter statements include mandate references, creditor IDs, and IBAN details that may wrap across multiple lines in the PDF. pdftoxlsx merges these wrapped lines into a single Concepto cell without losing any reference data — essential for matching against your SEPA mandates.
Tarjeta de credito statements (separate PDFs with various card brands): Bankinter credit card statements are issued as separate PDFs from current account statements. Bankinter offers cards under several brands (Visa, Mastercard, co-branded cards). Each card statement includes Compras (purchases), Pagos (payments), pago minimo, and TAE information. pdftoxlsx consolidates these into a single Importe column so the ledger matches the card balance exactly.
Cuenta Empresa/Profesional with multiple accounts: Bankinter business and professional accounts may combine several accounts into one PDF statement. pdftoxlsx splits these into separate sheets (one per account) so you can import each to the correct ledger in your accounting software. This is especially common for professionals managing personal and business accounts at Bankinter.
Recibos domiciliados (utilities, insurance): Domiciled receipts for utilities (Iberdrola, Naturgy, Endesa), insurance premiums, and subscriptions appear with specific formatting in Bankinter statements, often including the biller reference number and mandate ID. pdftoxlsx preserves these references intact in the Concepto column for easy matching against your bills.
Bankinter investment/broker statements (NOT supported): Bankinter is popular among small investors and offers broker/investment account statements with portfolio positions, fund movements, and securities transactions. These investment statements have a completely different format from cuenta corriente statements and are NOT supported by pdftoxlsx. Only current account (cuenta corriente) and credit card statements are supported. If you need to convert investment statements, contact us.
Comisiones y liquidaciones (quarterly fees and interest): Bankinter quarterly fee and interest settlement entries (liquidacion de intereses, comision de mantenimiento) appear in a separate section at the end of quarterly statements. pdftoxlsx extracts these as regular transaction rows with their correct dates and amounts, so they integrate seamlessly into your ledger.
Bankinter Consumer Finance (formerly Bankinter Card Services) — separate entity, different PDF format: Bankinter Consumer Finance is a separate legal entity from Bankinter S.A. and issues its own PDF statements for consumer loans, personal credit lines, and certain credit cards. These PDFs use a different layout from standard Bankinter account statements. pdftoxlsx detects the Bankinter Consumer Finance template automatically and extracts all transactions correctly — no manual configuration needed.
Frequently asked questions
Where do I download my Bankinter bank statements?
You can download Bankinter statements from two places: the Bankinter mobile app (Cuentas -> select account -> Movimientos -> Descargar extracto) or Bankinter Online at bankinter.com (Cuentas -> Extractos -> Descargar). Both provide the same official PDF format that pdftoxlsx supports. For business accounts, use empresas.bankinter.com.
Does pdftoxlsx handle Fecha valor vs Fecha operacion in Bankinter statements?
Yes. Bankinter statements include both Fecha operacion (transaction date) and Fecha valor (value date). pdftoxlsx preserves both columns separately in the output Excel file, so your accounting software can use either date for reconciliation or interest calculations. The dates are formatted as DD/MM/YYYY and are sortable in Excel.
Can I convert Bankinter credit card statements to Excel?
Yes. Bankinter credit card PDFs — which are issued separately from current account statements — are fully supported regardless of the card brand (Visa, Mastercard, co-branded). pdftoxlsx detects the credit card template and extracts all transactions (Compras, Pagos, disposiciones) into a clean ledger with Fecha, Concepto, Importe, and Saldo columns.
What about Bankinter Cuenta Empresa and Cuenta Profesional?
Yes. Bankinter business and professional account statements — including multi-account PDFs from empresas.bankinter.com — are fully supported. pdftoxlsx splits each account into its own sheet in the output .xlsx. This works for both Cuenta Empresa and Cuenta Profesional formats.
Does pdftoxlsx support Bankinter investment or broker statements?
No. Bankinter investment/broker account statements (portfolio positions, fund movements, securities transactions) use a completely different format and are not supported. pdftoxlsx only converts Bankinter current account (cuenta corriente) and credit card statements. If you need investment statement conversion, contact us.
Can pdftoxlsx convert Bankinter Consumer Finance statements?
Yes. Bankinter Consumer Finance (formerly Bankinter Card Services) is a separate legal entity that issues its own PDF statements for consumer loans and credit lines. pdftoxlsx auto-detects the Bankinter Consumer Finance template and extracts all transactions correctly, despite the different layout from standard Bankinter statements.
